Premonition of a Meeting - Commission
Dark clouds swirled around her like ribbons. Golden contrails of stars sparkled in the blackness. Iris blinked.
"Where… am I?" she said out loud.
She felt strange. It was as though none of this was real. She looked down at herself. Her bare skin shimmered as though lit from within by some sort of internal fire. She curled her toes and realized she was standing on nothing. She was beholden to a force greater than gravity, and it was gently cradling her in its invisible grasp.
A dream? Iris thought to herself. That would've explained the cosmic grandeur of it all. And yet there was something about it that felt real to her, or…

We join our heroes once again on the road to Johto. This time our trio of travelers has stopped in the beautiful lakeside retreat of Satchelwood City. There isn't any gym, but that won't keep our heroes from experiencing the heat of battle!
A female voice squealed from in front of a bulletin board, causing Ash, Misty, and Brock to turn toward the sound. "The doubles tournament is today!" a teenage gir

There was a hand just a hand. That was all he could make out in the swirling world of blacks and grays and purples. It was a human hand, he was sure. It wasn't one of the deathly pale disembodied things that you sometimes found floating around in the in-betwee

The Kingdom of Illusions
Part 1.
Time hadn't passed Dawn by. Oh, she was still roughly the same girl that had started her journey to be Top Coordinator nearly ten years previous. Her hair was a bit shorter and her skirts were a bit longer, but she hadn't so much changed as grown. W

"Your Gengar sure is taking its time," Falkner commented as he and Morty walked down one of Sprout Tower's hallways.
Morty raised an eyebrow. "How long do you think it should take to navigate through an unfamiliar place, find the Gastly's hidden nest which is probably nestled between dimensions, hold off their attackers, gain their trust, find out what's upsetting them, and then come back here?"
Falkner looked off to the side. "I didn't mean it like that," he said, somewhat contritely. "I just want to know what's wrong with the Gastly."
That surprised Morty. This was an unusually sensitive turn from the person who'd come in and tr

Part 2.
This was Dawn's first time meeting Misty, so she didn't realize how much she'd changed. Instead of the short ponytail she'd sported in her younger days, she had her hair out to her shoulders with a slight curl upwards at the ends. A fleecy, light-blue sweatshirt hung open over a one piece swimsuit. This wasn't the kind of swimsuit that Dawn usually favored when she went bikini shopping. This one looked professional and well, like it was actually designed for underwater use. Below that, she wore a pair of jeans that were folded up at the knee and sandals with yellow flowers on them.
Dawn had only barely gotten to introduce hers

Nonregulation Attire.
Field Commander Tabitha strode down the black marble hallway of what was just one in a long series of secret bases that Team Magma had taken possession of and subsequently abandoned in the last couple of years. There was, as always, much to be done and he had to be able trust his men to be able to get the job done when it counted. He stopped as he reached the training room where Staff Sergeant Warren was teaching the new recruits how to handle the tech side of Team Magma.

Misty paused for a moment before heading down the hall that would lead to Ash's room. She wasn't going there because of anything that Dawn had said. If she was honest with herself, then she had always intended on going to see him. Seeing Dawn was the stall the confidence builder. But her confidence didn't feel built up, no matter what Dawn had said.
She turned down the hall and heard voices spilling out from an open door.
"better get some rest, Pikachu. I don't really know what's up, but we gotta be ready so that we can help all the Togepi."
"Kaa!" Pikachu answered determinedly.
Misty grinned and sidled around the doo
Part 3.
It had all been going better for a minute there, Morty had thought. Sure, he and Falkner had gotten off on the wrong foot initially, but Falkner had seemed genuinely interested in their talk about ghosts and the pros and cons of working with them. He'd started to think that there might be hope foroh, maybe getting a cup of coffee together and talking about Drifloon. Something like that. Then maybe he'd finally be friends with a gym leader that he actually wanted to hang out with. And then he'd never have to spend another Johto-Kanto gym leader conference eating lunch with Sabrina, forced to watch her bend all the cutlery with h

Part 4.
Breakfast, by all accounts, should've been nice. The Mirage Kingdom cooks were of that divine caliber that can turn the first meal of the day into dessert. Dawn and Piplup were chowing down on a waffle with strawberries tucked into every dimple and whipped cream on top. And that was her making a healthy concession; the first thing that'd caught her eye was the cheesecake stuffed blueberry pancakes. To top it all off, they were at the queen's table eating with a bunch of other fancy people. It should've been great, but
